I'm Francisco Ramos Torralba, a visual artist, cultural project manager, and consultant currently based in Berlin. I was born in Córdoba, Argentina, into a family of artists. Growing up surrounded by that kind of creative energy meant making art was never really a conscious choice. It was just how we communicated. I picked up a camera at twelve, largely inspired by my father, and over time, that early curiosity evolved into my own multidisciplinary work across photography, painting, and sculpture.
In my personal studio practice, I spend a lot of time exploring what it means to be an individual in today's fast-paced society. I'm deeply interested in themes of solitude, human connection, and the quiet narratives of everyday life. It's been an incredible journey so far. I've gone from showing my photography project Soledad at the Museo Provincial de Fotografía Palacio Dionisi back home, to celebrating more recent exhibitions and awards right here in Germany.
But as much as I love creating art, I've always been just as fascinated by how the art world actually functions behind the scenes. Early on, I realized that for artists and cultural projects to truly thrive, they need solid logistical and structural support. That realization led me to earn my degree in International Relations. I wanted to understand the global systems, the cultural diplomacy, and the practical frameworks that make large-scale initiatives possible. For me, the creative and the logistical aren't opposites. They completely rely on each other.
Today, I use that dual perspective to partner with artists, galleries, and cultural institutions to help bring their ideas to life. Sometimes that means stepping in as a project manager to plan and execute a public arts initiative from the ground up. Other times, it means working hands-on with exhibition montage, where I curate the physical space and the flow of a gallery so the artwork truly connects with the audience.
I also work directly with artists on the less glamorous but totally essential sides of their careers. Whether it is drafting business strategies, organizing and cataloging large collections, or handling the complexities of importing and exporting artwork, my goal is always the same. I take care of the structural heavy lifting so the creative vision can take center stage.
Speaking Spanish, English, and German allows me to work easily across borders, and I genuinely love facilitating international collaborations. Whether you are an institution planning an event, a gallery needing precise collection management, or an artist looking for career strategy and exhibition support, I'd love to connect.
